Professional Highlights:
I joined Shenandoah University in August 2022, bringing over 23 years of diverse experience in teaching, research, and industry to my role as an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity. Prior to joining Shenandoah, I held positions at three other academic institutions, contributing to my extensive experience in academia.
My teaching expertise spans cybersecurity, computer science, and computer engineering at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I am deeply involved in curriculum development, actively contributing to course, lab, and program design. Futhermore, I am a dedicated mentor, having supervised numerous senior graduation projects and master’s theses.
I am committed to maintaining a high standard of excellence in cybersecurity education. This commitment is reflected in my ongoing contributions to our cybersecurity lab, where I assist in its setup and maintenance.
My dedication to teaching and research has been recognized through exceptional performance awards, management appreciation letters, and consistently positive student feedback. I am also proud to be a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), a member of the IEEE, and a COIL Fellow.
Research:
As an active researcher, I have secured multiple research grants to support my work. My research interests include cryptography, gamification for cybersecurity awareness, the application of blockchain technology in resource management, and using robot and virtual reality to improve academic skills of autistic children.
I am passionate about fostering experiential learning and have established an educational YouTube channel to share knowledge and engage students beyond the classroom.
I actively contribute to the academic community by serving as a reviewer for 13 international journals and 13 conferences.
